![]() ![]() ![]() The latency value compensates for the short delay it sometimes takes for audio information to travel from the microphone into the computer. Enter a value in this text box to delay Finale’s translation of audio information while recording in HyperScribe. If the levels are too "hot," the distortion will cause poor quality recordings. Adjust the Mic Level slider to change your microphone input levels so that your loudest note doesn’t hit the red levels. When you play into the microphone, you’ll see colored bars in the Input Meter, indicating how loud Finale heard you. From this dropdown menu, choose the pair of input channels (left and right) you would like to use for the selected ASIO device. Click Settings to open the volume controls of your Windows operating system. Select an input source from this dropdown menu for recording audio tracks. If you are running into issues with Finale's performance and see events listed in the Device Error Log dialog box, contact and provide this information to the MakeMusic Customer Support Team. The Device Error Log lists information when an audio device causes Finale to freeze or crash. ![]() Click this button to view the Device Error Log dialog box. If an audio driver causes Finale to freeze or crash during launch, it can also be disabled by using the Audio Initialization Notification dialog box. When a driver is disabled, only the Audio Driver drop-down menu, Enabled check box, Device Error Log button, and Input Meter options are available. Use this option to enable or disable the driver currently selected in the Audio Driver drop-down menu. Here, you can choose an audio driver (DirectSound, WASAPI, or ASIO depending on your system) to use for audio recording. This dialog box allows you to set up options for recording audio and configuring audio output devices.
